Cold Seas

Far away, on islands in the Arctic Ocean, live small groups of meteorologists, measuring the speed of the wind, the depth of the water, the size of the clouds, to help bring us our daily weather. Surrounded by seemingly endless water and the quietness of the tundra, they live isolated from the rest of the world for years on end. This summer I went on the journey on an icebreaker to visit such places.
