Hanns-Jorg Anders (Germany) was born in 1942 in Gardelegen and began working as a freelance photographer in 1966. His work first appeared in international publications such as Stern, Paris Match and Epoca the following year and, also in 1967, he was awarded the German Photography jury prize at Photokina. In 1968 he was hired as a staff photographer at Stern, where he remained until his retirement in 2002.
