Claus Bjørn Larsen (Denmark) began his career as a darkroom volunteer at the tabloid Ekstra Blade in 1984 before working as a staff photographer for Ekstra Bladet (1989-1996) and then for Berlingske Tidende (1996). In 2000, he became chief photographer for that newspaper. He has covered major stories and conflicts around the world including locations in Israel, Iraq, former Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, former USSR and the U.S.A. Danish awards for his work include Photographer of the year in 1989 and 2003. International awards include Fuji Europress photographer 2000 and winner of Picture Of the Year 2000 and 2001.
