Oded Balilty (28), Israel, served in 1998 as photographer for the Israeli Defense Force's Bamahane magazine. In 2001 he was hired as a photographer for the Israeli newspaper daily Yedioth Aharonot. In 2002, at the peak of the second Intifada, he started working for the Associated Press in Jerusalem. During that period he covered the 2003 NATO summit in Istanbul, the 2004 elections in Ukraine and in 2006 covered the 20th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster in Ukraine.
