Born in 1962, Francesco Zizola has photographed the world's major conflicts and its hidden crises. His latest book Iraq published in 2007 with Amnesty International, documented the beginning of Iraq II. His 2004 book, Born Somewhere was the result of 13 years spent covering the lives of children in 28 countries around the world.
He has received numerous international awards and prizes, including the World Press Photo of the Year in 1996, documenting the tragedy of land mines in Angola, eight other World Press Photo awards and four Pictures of the Year Awards. Zizola is a founding member of the photographic agency, Noor.
