Patrick Baz is the Middle East Photo Manager for Agence France-Presse. He began his career as a journalist and photographer for Lebanon's Cine d'Orient, before moving on to work for the media group Les Editions Orientales.
From 1984 to 1989 he worked as a freelance photographer in the Middle East for Reuters, Time, Newsweek, Der Spiegel and other major international magazines, going on to become chief photographer for Israel and the Palestinian territories for Agence France-Presse.
His various positions at Agence France-Presse since then have included being Baghdad bureau chief from 2002 to 2003.
