Tomasz Wiech was born in 1979, lives in Krakow and holds an MA in political science. Since 2004 he has worked for Gazeta Wyborcza, one of the biggest Polish dailies, largely as a documentary photographer focusing on changes in eastern Europe. His photo cycles were made in Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Ukraine. His pictures, distributed by photo agency Agencja Gazeta, have appeared in most of major Polish magazines and newspapers, and he has had three solo exhibitions in Krakow.
Wiech has been honored in a number of Polish photo contests, including Grand Press Photo (2006), WBK Press Photo (2006, 2007), and Newsweek Poland (2007).
