Dewi Lewis, UK, was the founding director of Cornerhouse, Manchester, a major UK venue for film and visual arts. He also established Cornerhouse Books, and has worked as an arts and media consultant advising on building projects and programming.
In 1994 Lewis founded his own publishing company and has published many leading international photographers including William Klein, Martin Parr, Simon Norfolk, Paolo Pellegrin, Tom Wood, Bruce Gilden and Frank Horvat. The company also has a small fiction list, with books both long-listed and short-listed for many awards, including the prestigious Booker Prize.
Lewis is a founding member of the European Publishers Award for Photography, a major collaboration between publishers from six different European countries, now in its 16th year. He is a regular lecturer on photographic publishing and reviewer at photography events, and is the author of Publishing Photography, which won a PhotoEye Resource Book of the Year award.
