Giorgia Fiorio, Italy, is an independent photographer based in Turin and is the founder and director of the Reflexions Masterclass since 2003. She is known primarily for her two long-term projects - The Gift, a personal investigation into the individual and the sacred at religious missions around the world, and Men, a study on closed male communities in Western society, ranging from fishermen and sailors to bullfighters and ballet dancers. These projects have led to more than a dozen books, and publications in numerous newspapers and magazines internationally, including Geo, Stern, The Daily Telegraph and Io Donna, among many more.
Fiorio's work has been widely exhibited across Europe, and her accolades include an Ernst Haas Award, a Yan Geoffroy Award and a PoYi. In 2009 her book and exhibition Le Don/Il Dono (The Gift) received official UNESCO patronage.
