Philip Blenkinsop, Australia/UK, is an independent photographer based in Bangkok. Since arriving in Asia in 1989, Blenkinsop's name has become synonymous with forgotten conflicts, although he has recently turned his eye to the environment. Herve Le Goff described him as ‘a man of guerrillas and of resistances', and Christian Caujolle has dubbed him ‘one of the most essential photographers of his generation'.
He is the author of two books, The Cars That Ate Bangkok and Extreme Asie, and his numerous accolades include a World Press Photo prize and three Visa d'Or awards. Blenkinsop is a founding member of Noor photo agency. His work has been exhibited across Europe and Asia, as well as in Australia.
