Kathryn Cook (30), USA, is a freelance photographer currently based in Rome. She is represented by Agence Vu and Prospekt Fotografi. Born in Washington DC, Kathryn grew up in New Mexico and graduated from the University of Colorado. She began her professional career in 2003 with The Associated Press in Panama, contributing to reports throughout Latin America. She later worked on personal projects and freelance assignments in South America.
In 2006 Kathryn relocated to Istanbul, contributing to such magazines as Stern, Time, and D La Repubblica delle Donne. Her long-term project addressing the memory of the Armenian genocide received the 2008 Aftermath Project grant, 2008 Inge Morath Award and the Italian Enzo Baldoni Award.
