Mads Nissen (29), Denmark, is a staff photographer with the national newspaper Berlingske Tidende, while continuing with long-term projects of his own. After graduating from The Danish School of Journalism in 2007, he moved as a freelancer to China to document the human and social consequences of its economic rise.
Mads has worked on assignment for publications such as Newsweek, Time, Der Spiegel, Stern and Sunday Times Magazine. His work has been exhibited at the Arles and Lumix photo festivals and has been recognized with awards from POYi and a best picture of the year prize in Denmark.
