During the masterclass, the highly acclaimed photographer Giorgia
Fiorio gave a presentation on the two long-term projects that have
brought her international renown- The Gift, a personal investigation
into the individual and the sacred at religious missions around the
world, and Men, a study on closed male communities in Western society,
ranging from fishermen and sailors to bullfighters and ballet dancers.
Fiorio's work has led to more than a dozen books, and publications in numerous newspapers and magazines worldwide, including Geo, Stern, The Daily Telegraph and Io Donna, among many more. She has exhibited widely across Europe, and her accolades include an Ernst Haas Award, a Yan Geoffroy Award and a PoYi. In 2009 her book and exhibition Le Don/Il Dono (The Gift) received official UNESCO patronage. Fiorio is a founder of the Reflexions Masterclass, and continues to direct it in collaboration with Gabriel Bauret.
