Alessandra Mauro

As curator, Alessandra Mauro has conceived and organized several exhibitions, among those William Klein’s Rome; Mario Giacomelli’s Retrospective, and Mimmo Jodice’s Lost in Seeing among others.

During her time as editorial director of Contrasto Publishing House in Rome, she has curated and edited several books and catalogues, including My Brother's Keeper (Documentary Photographers and Human Rights), and Shadows of War.

Currently serving as artistic director of Forma in Milan, she has been responsible for the exhibition program since 2005 and has worked on retrospectives and solo shows of several photographers, including Richard Avedon’s Josef. Aside from her duties at Forma, she is a consultant for photography at the Vatican Museum’s contemporary art department.
