Javad Parsa

Javad Parsa was born in Sari, Iran, and fled to Turkey in 2009 to escape arrest after pictures he took of the Iranian uprising were published abroad. He later moved to Oslo in Norway, where he now works as a freelance photographer for one of the country’s leading newspapers, Verdens Gang (VG).

One of Javad’s photos was chosen for the cover of the 29 June 2009 edition of Time magazine, and his work from Iran has been published in numerous national and international publications, including The Washington Post, Newsweek, The Seattle Times, Le Figaro, Paris Match, and The Guardian.
