Jonathan Rashad is a self-taught photographer who grew up in Cairo and started his career at the age of 16. He has covered events in Egypt as they have unfolded over the past few years.
In March 2011, he won the IFES photography contest. In January 2012, he was nominated for the fourth cycle of Prix Pictet. In October 2012, he took part in the ‘Cairo Open City' exhibition, which was part of the 5th European Month of Photography in Berlin.
His work has been published and distributed by a variety of media outlets, including The New York Times, Forbes, Aljazeera, CNN, Egypt Independent, The Los Angeles Times, Huffington Post and The Guardian.
