Olivier Laurent is associate editor for British Journal of Photography, and editor at FLTR, a weekly magazine on smartphone photography.
A graduate of the American University of Paris, he moved to London in 2005 to pursue a career in journalism, starting in the financial sector on publications such as Dealing With Technology and Post Magazine. In 2008, he joined British Journal of Photography as its news editor, developing the award-winning magazine's news coverage both in print and online, as well as its social media presence. In December 2013, he launched FLTR, an independent weekly magazine about smartphone photography and its impact on today’s society.
He has sat on the juries of the Visa pour l'Image Web Documentary Award, the Carmignac Gestion Photojournalism Prize, the FotoEvidence First Photobook Award, the Getty Images Grants for Editorial, the Visa d’Or News and Features, and Photoreporter Festival.
In June 2014, he will join TIME as editor of LightBox, the magazine's photography website.
