Eine Schießerei am helllichten Tage auf der Avenida Brasil, einer belebten Geschäftsstraße in Rio de Janeiro. Der Mann im grauen T-Shirt wurde beim ersten Schusswechsel verletzt. Als der Mann im gestreiften T-Shirt flüchtete, wurde er von einem Begleiter seines Opfers angeschossen und getreten. Er starb am Tatort. Der erste Mann starb einen Tag später im Krankenhaus.

A daylight shootout on the Avenida Brasil, a busy shopping area in Rio de Janeiro. The initial exchange of fire left the man in the grey shirt injured. As the man in the striped shirt was fleeing, he was shot and trampled by apparent acquaintances of his victim, and died on the spot. The first man died in hospital the following day.

Un tiroteo en pleno día en la Avenida Brasil, una zona comercial muy concurrida en Río de Janeiro. El primer intercambio de disparos dejó malherido al hombre de la camiseta gris. Cuando el hombre de la camiseta a rayas huía, recibió un disparo y fue pisoteado por los aparentes compinches de su víctima, lo que le causó la muerte en el lugar de los hechos. El primer herido también murió, al día siguiente, en el hospital.

Una sparatoria in pieno giorno su Avenida Brasil, zona commerciale molto trafficata di Rio de Janeiro. L’inizio del conflitto a fuoco lascia ferito l’uomo in maglietta grigia. Mentre quello con la t-shirt a righe cerca di darsi alla fuga, viene colpito e preso a calci da persone che sembrano conoscere la vittima e muore sul posto. Il primo uomo morirà in ospedale il giorno dopo.

Een brutale afrekening op de Avenida Brasil, een druk winkelgebied in Rio de Janeiro. Bij de eerste schotenwisseling raakte de man in het grijze shirt gewond. De man in het gestreepte shirt vluchtte, maar werd door bekenden van zijn slachtoffer neergeschoten en getrapt, en stierf ter plaatse. De eerste man stierf de volgende dag in het ziekenhuis.

In 2005, he returned to Jornal O Dia, and has remained there ever since. Vieira was a finalist for the Premio Embratel de Fotojornalismo, runner-up for the Rio Grande Do Sul Human Rights Prize in Brazil, and is a winner of the Premio Esso de Fotojornalismo.
