Lurdes R. Basoli took a step away from her documentary work to capture a reality that is physically close to her. She photographed what was nearest to her, her family, to dive into her most intimate thoughts and then step backwards in order to trigger reflection.

Lurdes Basolí, Spain, is a freelance photographer currently based in Barcelona. She has a BA in audiovisual communication from Universitat Ramon Llull, and post-graduate degree in photojournalism from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Lurdes began her professional career in 2005, doing reportages for Spanish and American magazines. She later became involved in her own documentary photography projects.
