Reporters, photographers, researchers and activists from the Middle East and North Africa will bring the stories behind the headlines to The Netherlands on June 15, 2014, Human Rights Watch and World Press Photo announced today. Their work will be presented at a festival, Reporting Change – Stories from the Arab Region, at De Melkweg in Amsterdam.

World Press Photo Supervisory Board Chairman Pieter Broertjes and Michiel Munneke announced today that Munneke will leave his position as managing director per 1 November 2014.

World Press Photo announced the 12 young photographers who have been selected for the 21st edition of the annual World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass. The announcement was made during the Awards Days.

An international and independent selection committee will be gathering in Amsterdam on 23 April to select the 12 participants of the prestigious Joop Swart Masterclass. The names will be announced during the Awards Days, on Thursday 24 April.

Delta Lloyd is ook dit jaar weer sponsor van de tentoonstelling van World Press Photo in Amsterdam. Delta Lloyd werkt sinds 2011 samen met World Press Photo en zal tot 2018 verbonden zijn aan deze prestigieuze tentoonstelling, die dit jaar terugkeert naar De Nieuwe Kerk Amsterdam.

World Press Photo kondigt de samenwerking aan met Unique Nederland. De HR-dienstverlener zal betrokken zijn bij de jaartentoonstelling in Amsterdam. De tentoonstelling is een overzicht van de winnende beelden van de internationale World Press Photo wedstrijd.

The international jury of the 2014 World Press Photo Multimedia Contest has awarded prizes in three categories: Short Feature, Long Feature and Interactive Documentary. Each category holds first, second and third prizes.

World Press Photo will announce the results of the fourth annual contest for multimedia productions on 24 March at 14.00 CET (GMT+1) on the World Press Photo website. A group of internationally recognized professionals in the fields, chaired by Jassim Ahmad, global head of multimedia innovation at Reuters, are currently in Amsterdam to judge all 377 entries. The winning productions will be showcased in the World Press Photo exhibition in Amsterdam starting 18 April.

The fourth annual contest for multimedia productions will take place from 15 to 21 March 2014 in Amsterdam. The winners will be announced on 24 March 2014 on the World Press Photo website as of 14.00 CET (GMT+1).

The international jury of the 57th annual World Press Photo Contest has selected an image by American photographer John Stanmeyer of the VII Photo Agency as the World Press Photo of the Year 2013. The picture shows African migrants on the shore of Djibouti city at night, raising their phones in an attempt to capture an inexpensive signal from neighboring Somalia—a tenuous link to relatives abroad.
