World Press Photo and Human Rights Watch are pleased to announce that the French photographer Olivier Jobard has been awarded the third annual Tim Hetherington Grant, set up to celebrate the legacy of the photojournalist and filmmaker killed in Libya in 2011.

World Press Photo is pleased to announce that the third edition of the book Next#03 is now available. The book features the photo essays made by the 12 participants of the annual Joop Swart Masterclass, around the theme of “hope”. It offers an insight into the newcomers’ talent and passion, as well as a foretaste of the future of documentary storytelling.

World Press Photo and Human Rights Watch invite photojournalists and visual journalists around the world to apply for the third annual Tim Hetherington Grant.

World Press Photo invites professional visual journalists from Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia to apply for the Reporting Change Multimedia Course. In order to strengthen their storytelling skills, 10 selected participants will receive guidance from professional trainers and a grant to produce a high-quality multimedia story from the region.

World Press Photo en De Nieuwe Kerk Amsterdam kondigen met groot genoegen hun hernieuwde samenwerking aan. Daarmee komt vanaf volgend jaar de jaarlijkse fototentoonstelling terug in De Nieuwe Kerk. De expositie, die de winnende beelden van de jaarlijkse World Press Photo-wedstrijd voor fotojournalisten toont, zal in 2014 plaatsvinden van half april tot half juni.

World Press Photo announced the names of the young photographers who have been selected to come together with a group of masters for the 20th edition of the annual World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass, at a dinner hosted by Canon during the Awards Days. During the six-day masterclass meeting to be held from 2 to 8 November 2013 in Amsterdam, the participating photographers will interact with six prominent experts, discussing technical and visual aspects of their work, as well as their role as a photographer.
