World Press Photo is pleased to announce that the jury of the 2013 World Press Photo Contest will be chaired by Gary Knight, UK, founder photographer of VII Photo Agency. He will be supported by an international jury of 18 leading professionals in the field of photojournalism.

The international jury of the 2nd World Press Photo Multimedia Contest has given the First Prize to the production ‘Afrikaner Blood’ by Elles van Gelder and Ilvy Njiokiktjien from the Netherlands. The multimedia production follows young white Afrikaner teenagers in South Africa who attend a holiday camp set up to teach them self-defense and how to combat a perceived black enemy.

World Press Photo is pleased to announce its second contest for multimedia productions in visual journalism will take place from 10 to 13 March in Amsterdam. Work entered by photographers, publications, and multimedia producers will be judged by an international, eight-member jury of experts chaired by Vincent Laforet.

The results of this year’s World Press Photo Contest will be announced on Friday, 10 February 2012 at 11.00 a.m. (C.E.T.) during a press conference at the Boekmanzaal in the Amsterdam City Hall, Amstel 1. Following the announcement, the complete winners’ gallery will be published on this website.
