The World Press Photo Exhibition 2020 in Hong Kong was due to open on 1 March. On Thursday 25 February, we were made aware of the cancellation of the exhibition by the venue. We regret that the exhibition cannot be visited in Hong Kong at this time. We provide more context here.

Visit the World Press Photo Exhibition 2020 on its world-wide tour showcasing the stories that matter with photography from the 63rd annual World Press Photo Contest. The winners were chosen by an independent jury that reviewed more than 73,996 photographs entered by 4,283 photographers from 125 countries.

Directions to the gallery

We are a 10 minute walk from Kowloon Tong MTR Exit A2. Please see this short video for walking directions. You may also take the 25M minibus from the Kowloon Tong station, which stops directly in front of the Communication and Visual Arts building where the gallery is located.

Daily: 9.00 - 19.00

Guided Tour

Our journalism student guides will offer free daily guided tours. Please check back for the schedule. If you are an educational group, please contact the Institute for Journalism and Society to arrange a private tour.

Health and Safety

All visitors are required to wear masks at all times and complete a health declaration and take a temperature screening upon arrival. Entrance to the gallery is limited to ensure enough space for social distancing, so please understand there may be a short wait during busier times. Please note that as access to the Communication and Visual Arts Building is restricted to HKBU students and staff, there are no public toilet facilities available in the gallery. Nearby public toilet facilities include the Kowloon Tong MTR station, Festival Walk mall and the adjacent Kowloon Tsai park.
