The World Press Photo Festival showcases different perspectives on the stories that matter through a varied program of presentations, exhibitions, panel discussions, and meet-ups. We're excited to welcome the first of our guest speakers for the 2020 edition of the World Press Photo Festival.

Stephen Wilkes

Stephen Wilkes is widely recognized for his fine art and commercial photography. His photographs are included in the collections of the George Eastman Museum, Museum of the City of New York, among others, and his editorial work has appeared in leading publications such as The New York Times Magazine, Vanity Fair, Time, Fortune, National Geographic, Sports Illustrated, and many others.

Lauren Walsh

Lauren Walsh

Lauren Walsh is an expert on conflict photography, professor and writer. She is a teacher at The New School and New York University, where she is the director of the Gallatin Photojournalism Lab. At the World Press Photo Festival, Walsh will speak about her newest book, Conversations on Conflict Photography (2019), that examines the value of documenting war and humanitarian crisis in the contemporary moment.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be announcing the program featuring special guests, including the 2020 World Press Photo award nominees, and the renowned Sem Presser Lecture, supported by DuPho.
