Countdown To The 2014 World Press Photo Multimedia Contest Results

World Press Photo will announce the results of the fourth annual contest for multimedia productions on 24 March at 14.00 CET (GMT+1) on the World Press Photo website. A group of internationally recognized professionals in the fields, chaired by Jassim Ahmad, global head of multimedia innovation at Reuters, are currently in Amsterdam to judge all 377 entries. The winning productions will be showcased in the World Press Photo exhibition in Amsterdam starting 18 April.

Categories and number of productions
The judges are reviewing a total of 377 multimedia productions entered in three categories:
Short Feature: 254 entries;
Long Feature: 56 entries;
Interactive Documentary: 67 entries.

Multimedia Event Monday 17 March, Amsterdam: A night with the jury
World Press Photo and FotografenFederatie are organizing an event on multimedia which will take place tonight. Multimedia jury members Jassim Ahmad, Gabriel Dance, Ed Kashi, Marianne Lévy-Leblond and Grant Scott will give talks and presentations about developments in the field. The evening will be moderated by Lars Boering, director of FotografenFederatie.

The evening is a co-production of FotografenFederatie and World Press Photo, who collaboratively aim to map the global emergence and development of multimedia in visual storytelling.

The 2014 jury
The 2014 jury consists of the following international group of visual professionals:

The first place winner in each category will be awarded a cash award of 1,500 euros and a Golden Eye Award. Winners of second and third prizes receive a Golden Eye Award and a diploma. The awards will be presented at the Awards Ceremony on Friday 25 April 2014 in Amsterdam.

Multimedia Exhibition
The prize-winning productions will be presented along with with the winning images of the 2014 Photo Contest in Amsterdam, De Nieuwe Kerk, from 18 April – 22 June 2014. More info here:

Editors please note: jury perspectives videos
The winners announcement will include downloadable and embeddable video interviews with jury members for each of the winning productions. These interviews will provide insight into the jury's decisions with clips from the winning productions.
