Claus Bjørn Larsen

Claus Bjørn Larsen (Holbæk, Denmark, 1963) started his career in 1984 as a darkroom volunteer in 1984 for the Danish tabloid Ekstra Bladet. After finishing his military service, Larsen became a student-photographer at Ekstra Bladet in 1986. In 1996, he left the paper to become a staff photographer at Berlingske Tidende. Larsen became a freelance press photographer in 2009, after serving ten years as Berlingske Tidende’s chief staff photographer. Since 1989, Larsen has covered major stories and conflicts around the world, from former Yugoslavia and the former Soviet Union to Israel, Iraq and Afghanistan.
