Jonah M. Kessel is a cinematographer, filmmaker and staff video journalist with The New York Times.

Mr. Kessel has contributed to a Pulitzer Prize winning series in explanatory journalism, been awarded the Robert F. Kennedy Award for Justice and Human Rights reporting, The Edwin Hoop Diplomatic Award for Broadcast Journalism and received multiple Human Rights Press Awards. He is a two-time winner of Pictures of the Year International (POYi)’s Multimedia Journalist of the Year award. His work focuses on human rights abuse and has often given a voice to marginalized populations around the globe.
