Mustafa Bozdemir was born in Ankara, Turkey. He started his journalistic career in 1965 at the Ulus Daily of Ankara. In 1975, he graduated from Ankara Journalism Academy. He worked for Vatan Daily (1970-72), Adalet (1972-73), Baris (1973-75), Gunaydin Daily (1975-77/1990-91)) and Hurriyet Daily (1977-1990). Between 1991 and 1998, Bozdemir worked as a press advisor for The Ministry of Environment. At the moment, he is the press advisor of the Municipality Workers Union, Turkey. Next to the 1983 World Press Photo of the Year Award, he was also awarded with the News Photo of the Year Award 1983 by the Istanbul Journalists Association and the Missouri School of Journalism.
