Special exhibition in Shanghai, China

Our World 2018-2020

15 November - 13 December 2020
Location: Bund 18 Jiushi Art Gallery, Shanghai, China

Since 1955, the annual World Press Photo Contest rewards photographers for the best single exposure pictures contributing to the past year of visual journalism. The Nature category rewards imagery showing flora, fauna, and landscapes in their natural state. In 2018, recognizing the importance of ecological issues, the World Press Photo Foundation introduced the Environment category for work documenting human impact, positive or negative, on the environment.

The special exhibition 'Our World 2018-2020' presents winning photos and stories from the Nature and Environment categories of the World Press Photo Contest from 2018-2020. The exhibition highlights our natural world and human impact on the environment, with stories ranging from pandas in China and poaching in South Africa, to stories about trash recycling and innovative agriculture to feed the world.

We are proud to open the special exhibition in the Bund 18 Jiushi Art Gallery in Shanghai, China on 15 November 2020. This exhibition marks the return of a World Press Photo Exhibition to the city of Shanghai after 20 years. The exhibition is organized by Shanghai Jiushi Art Museum and Shanghai Anchor Industrial Co., Ltd. with the support of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Shanghai.
