Marizilda Cruppe is a photographer and co-founder of Eve Photographers. After first studying engineering and to be a professional pilot, she started working as a commercial photographer. Later she turned exclusively to photojournalism, and started working for O Globo newspaper (part of Brazil's largest media group), shooting for various sections of the paper while slowly moving from news stories to more focused documentary photography. For the past two years, Cruppe has photographed for the newspaper's Sunday magazine, covering stories dealing with social inequality, poverty and human rights in Brazil. She helped found Eve in 2005, and the group's work has been screened, exhibited or published in Brazil, Cambodia, China, France, Georgia, Italy, Japan, Spain, Ukraine and the USA. Cruppe was a jury member of 2009 and 2010 editions of the Images to Stop Tuberculosis Photo Award, and a first-round jury member for the News and Documentary section of the 2010 World Press Photo Contest.
