He took up photography at the age of 18, after a longstanding interest in online journalism, where he gained his BA degree in Gaza. His work has been published in several international newspapers including New York Times, Time Magazine, among others.
In addition, his work has been exhibited in several countries including United Kingdom, Japan, USA and United Arab Emirates. He is one of the founders of Screen for Media Production, an outlet that helps potential photojournalists in Gaza. In his work covering Arab Spring, from Egypt to Libya, he believes in the power of light to communicate the feelings of nations living under oppressed regimes for decades.
