Veronica Sanchis Bencomo

Veronica Sanchis Bencomo is a Spanish-Venezuelan photographer and curator based in New York. Her images have appeared in AFP, Bloomberg, Le Monde, Fortune, Monocle and Nature magazine amongst other international media.

In 2015, Veronica founded Foto Féminas - an online platform to promote the works of Latin American and Caribbean women photographers. For this, she has organised and produced photo exhibitions in Argentina, China, Guatemala, Peru, Chile and Mexico. In 2016, she started Foto Féminas’ library which was created to continue her mission to celebrate and archive the work of female Latin American photographers. The mobile library has been displayed and exhibited at different art institutions and festivals in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore.

Veronica has been working with Latin American photographers since 2012 when she first started interviewing photographers for different online and offline publications. She has served at many international contests as juror and nominator like; Prix Pictet Award, London, United Kingdom (2021); WYNG Foundation, WMA Space, Hong Kong (2020); Ballarat International Foto Biennale, Australia (2019); Latin American Fotografía 8, New York, United States (2019); FotoEvidence W Award, Amsterdam, The Netherlands (2019); GuatePhoto Festival, Antigua, Guatemala (2015); amongst others.
