Damarice Amao

Damarice Amao is a historian of photography and an associate curator for photography at the Musée National d'Art Moderne/Centre Pompidou in Paris. She is also a guest professor at the National School for Photography in Arles.

Damarice has co-curated the exhibitions Eli Lotar (Jeu de Paume, 2017), Photography, Weapon of Class (Centre Pompidou, 2018) and Dora Maar (2019) and co-edited the accompanying catalogs. In 2021, she presented the exhibition Charlotte Perriand. Politique du photomontage at Rencontres d'Arles. She is the curator of Décadrage colonial. Anticolonialism, Surrealism, Modern Photography presented at Centre Pompidou in 2022.
