Felipe Dana is a Brazilian photojournalist and cinematographer documenting conflict, violence and social issues around the globe.
He has covered some the most notable events of the last decade for the Associated Press, from focusing on the social issues and endemic violence in his native Rio de Janeiro to the war in Ukraine, the fight to oust Islamic State fighters from Iraq and Syria, the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, the Israel-Hamas wars, among many others.
Dana’s work has received numerous awards over the years, including being named ‘Photographer of the Year’ by NPPA, POYi Latam, and The Guardian. Additionally, he was part of the AP team that received the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography in 2023, after being a finalist in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2021.
