Eberhard Klöppel (born in 1940) grew up in East Germany and studied photography at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig. Since 1962, he has been working as a professional photographier. Between 1976 and 1992, Klöppel worked as a staff photographer for the Neue Berliner Illustrierten. Since 1976, he is freelance photographer for different newspapers and organizations.
