Jon Evensen

Jon Petter Evensen is working as an assistant professor at the Oslo Metropolitan University. He has worked as a teacher and tutor at the BA program in photojournalism since 2000. His experience includes working with media development organisations such as BBC Media Action and IREX Europe, and course and curriculum development in educational projects supported by the Council of Europe. He also runs photojournalism workshops for independent journalists and photojournalists in countries such as Belarus, Azerbajdsjan and Ukraine.

 

Evensen has been working as a photojournalist since 1986, including 10 years in Aftenposten, the leading Norwegian daily newspaper. He has been a jury member for national photo contests as well as the World Press Photo Digital Storytelling Contest jury in 2017 and 2018. Evensen organises the DOK-festival - the annual photojournalism festival in Fredrikstad, Norway - hosted by the Norwegian Press Photographers Association.
