Jukka Gröndahl has been a photojournalist since 1977. He worked as a freelancer until 1985 when he became a staff photographer at the Helsingin Sanomat newspaper. He also served as the newspaper's picture editor for seven years.
He moved to the newspaper Savon Sanomat as picture editor in 2006, but returned to Helsingin Sanomat after six years to fill his old position as picture editor once again.
