Sarah Wolozin

Sarah Wolozin is the director of the Open Documentary Lab, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She develops and oversees the lab’s projects and operations, including Docubase, the Visiting Fellows program, research reports, and collaborations with institutions such as Tribeca Film Institute, IDFA DocLab, and the National Film Board of Canada.

Wolozin has always had an interest in exploring new platforms for storytelling and social change. Before joining the staff at MIT, she produced award-winning documentaries and educational media for a wide variety of media outlets, including PBS, Learning Channel, History Channel, NPR, and various websites and museums. Topics ranged from the history of African-American arts to US healthcare. Wolozin started experimenting with the web back in the early stages of its public use, and in 1996 produced an eight-week interactive web series based on a comic-book character. She has sat on juries for Sundance New Frontier Lab, Tribeca New Media Fund, and the Puma Impact Award, as well as innovation committees such as the IFP Media Center. She has presented at Sundance Institute, SXSW, Storycode, MIT, and many other venues.
