Joi Lee is an Emmy-nominated producer and journalist who explores the intersections between environment, climate, and social equality. As the Head of Editorial at Earthrise Studio, Joi is committed to expanding the climate narrative and championing diverse perspectives and tools in storytelling. 

Throughout her career, she has helped build immersive media teams at Huff Post, RYOT, and Al Jazeera English, working across virtual reality, 360 video, film, photography, audio and text.  She's tackled complex issues from the Syrian refugee crisis to the war in Yemen and the famine in Northeast Nigeria. She's also created unique shows like Fork the System, examining the intersection between food, culture and politics, and reported for Channel News Asia’s documentary series, Deciphering South Korea. Her work has received over 25 awards,  including an Emmy nomination,  two Online Journalism Awards, two Webby Awards, and more.
