World Press Photo Exhibition 2026
Franz Mayer Museum, Mexico City
Visit the World Press Photo Exhibition 2026 on its global tour, showcasing the stories that shape and connect the world through photography from the 69th annual World Press Photo Contest.
Presenting the works of the 42 awarded photographers, the annual exhibition brings depth and nuance to our understanding of the world’s complexities, highlighting the most compelling photojournalism and documentary photography of the past year. The winners of the 2026 World Press Photo Contest were chosen by an independent jury of 31 professionals from around the world, who reviewed more than 57,376 photographs entered by 3,747 photographers from 141 countries.
Alongside the annual exhibition, we are pleased to present World Press Photo – The Archive. To mark the 70th anniversary of World Press Photo, this exhibition presents, for the first time ever, a selection of 33 vintage prints drawn from our archive, including prints housed at the National Archives of the Netherlands. All photographs were awarded the World Press Photo of the Year between 1955 and 2025.
The exhibition captures some of the most defining moments in recent history: resistance against racism, the hope and resilience of protesters, pandemics, modern-day migration, and the human cost of conflict. It also captures how these defining moments were documented in the past and how they are remembered today.
