Chantal Pinzi (b.1996) is a visual activist based in Berlin, Germany, who is focused on photojournalism and documentary photography. Her work often addresses issues of resilience in fractured and marginalized communities through the voices of women.
Pinzi uses photography to examine and question social complexity, capturing and conveying visual narratives that challenge oppressive systems and draw attention to certain issues, prompting us to question why. Pinzi considers her role to be contributing to collective memory and encouraging reflection; focusing on empathy, compassion and authenticity.
Her work has been published and recognised internationally. She has participated in initiatives and festivals including the Sony World Photography Awards (2025), Xposure Festival (2024), LensCulture, Helsinki Photo Festival and PhotoEspaƱa. Pinzi is represented by Panos Pictures.
