Ever Andrés Mercado Puentes is an Afro-Colombian documentary photographer born in Buenaventura, Valle del Cauca, Colombia. His work focuses on human rights, peacebuilding initiatives, and the cultural heritage of Colombia’s mid-Pacific region, as well as the search for missing persons, and the relationship between people, their environment and daily life.
Mercado Puentes has collaborated with media outlets including The Guardian, El País América – Colombia, El Espectador, El Cuarto Mosquetero, Semana Rural and Reuters.
He has also worked with organisations including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UN Women, Plan International Colombia and Caritas Peru.
He is a member of the photography communities Diversify Photo and EverydayAndes, part of The Everyday Projects.
