Krishna Sheth

Krishna Sheth is an accomplished photography professional with over 30 years’ experience commissioning and curating imagery for leading publications and global brands. 

With a discerning eye and an unwavering passion for storytelling, Sheth has spent over three decades at the heart of editorial photography. Recently appointed Director of Photography for The Economist, Sheth brings a wealth of experience to the publication. At The Economist, she is responsible for shaping and elevating the visual style of photography across all of The Economist's publications including 1843, both print and online.

Her journey began as a picture researcher at the Express Newspaper, following which she served as Deputy Photography Director for 17 years at The Telegraph Magazine. There, she was instrumental in crafting the magazine’s celebrated visual identity, commissioning work that challenged and inspired editorial photography.

Sheth’s portfolio includes collaborations with The Telegraph Magazine, Saatchi & Saatchi, Monocle, The Financial Times, Airbnb, Aston Martin, and many more. Her expertise spans both print and digital, editorial and commercial, always with a focus on images that resonate and endure.

Beyond the newsroom, Sheth is a dedicated mentor and advocate for emerging talent, championing new voices to ensure the next generation of photographers are seen and heard. She has taught on Falmouth University’s MA Photography course, lectured at universities across the United Kingdom, and regularly reviews portfolios and book dummies. Her influence extends to the judging panels of prestigious competitions, including chairing the Sony World Photography Awards pre-selection, Head on Photo (Australia) and judging the 2024 AOP Student Awards.
