The winners of the 2020 Photo Contest and the 2020 Digital Storytelling Contest – including the four headline awards – will be announced on Thursday 16 April 2020 at 22:00 CEST across our online and media channels.
For the Photo Contest we'll announce:
- the World Press Photo of the Year
- the World Press Photo Story of the Year
- Prizes for each of the Photo Contest categories: Contemporary Issues, Environment, General News, Long Term Projects, Nature, Portraits, Sports and Spot News
For the Digital Storytelling Contest we'll announce:
- the World Press Photo Interactive of the Year
- the World Press Photo Online Video of the Year
- Prizes for each of the Digital Storytelling Contest categories: Interactive, Long and Short.
Key dates

17 April: Launch of the World Press Photo Yearbook 2020, published by Lannoo Publishers.
1 June: Tentative opening date of the Flagship World Press Photo Exhibition 2020, De Nieuwe Kerk, Amsterdam.
