World Press Photo and FUJIFILM Corporation are pleased to announce the extension of their strategic partnership through 2030. Announced yesterday, on 16 October at the opening event of
Fujikina in New York at the International Center of Photography (ICP), the renewed four-year agreement deepens a global commitment to supporting photojournalists, nurturing documentary visual storytellers, and broadening public engagement with trustworthy photojournalism and documentary photography.
First established in 2024, the partnership has played a key role in supporting World Press Photo’s work around the globe. Over the past three years, the collaboration has enabled the production of 21 full sets of our annual exhibition using high-quality Fujifilm photographic paper, mounting, and framing. Beyond exhibition production, Fujifilm and World Press Photo have hosted 39 workshops, portfolio reviews, and public events across the world, reaching audiences and photographers in cities from Amsterdam to Jakarta, and Mexico City to New York.
Under the extended agreement spanning 2027 to 2030, both organizations will expand their joint efforts. Collaborative programming, including portfolio reviews, technical workshops, and speaking events featuring World Press Photo Contest winners, will take place in up to 20 cities annually. We will also work alongside Fujifilm to contribute directly to the programming of Fujikina events held across the globe.
In addition, Fujifilm will continue its support for the annual World Press Photo Contest. The winner of the World Press Photo of the Year, alongside the two finalists, will each receive the latest large-format mirrorless digital camera equipment from Fujifilm’s GFX System. The GFX System is Fujifilm’s high-end mirrorless digital camera system, featuring a large-format sensor that delivers high resolution and rich tonal reproduction. It enables photographers to capture the texture, dimensionality, and atmosphere of their subjects in exceptional detail.
"Building on the strong foundation we have established since 2024, extending our partnership with Fujifilm until 2030 opens up long-term possibilities for our organization and the photographers we support. Their continued commitment allows us to expand our global reach, enrich our local exhibition programs, and ensure photojournalists and documentary photographers around the world have the support and platform necessary to bring vital, reliable stories to light." – Joumana El Zein Khoury, executive director of World Press Photo.
"We are excited to further strengthen the strategic partnership we established in 2024, a collaboration that has grown steadily based on mutual trust and shared values. Through this partnership, we are proud to contribute to the growth of trustworthy storytelling and global communication through the power of photography." – Yuji Igarashi, general manager of the Imaging Solutions Division at FUJIFILM Corporation.
By continuing to combine Fujifilm’s technical expertise in imaging with our global network, the partnership ensures that impactful, reliable photojournalism remains accessible to international audiences for years to come.
