About

Rob G. Green

United States

Rob G. Green is a National Geographic Explorer, documentary photographer, and filmmaker based in Montana, United States. His work focuses on communities whose labour often goes unseen, particularly in the American West, where he has undertaken long-term projects exploring conservation, wildlife stewardship, and the environmental pressures shaping the region.

Trained in journalism and natural resource conflict resolution, Green works at the intersection of people, land, and policy. He has documented wildlife conflict and wildfire response from the closest possible vantage point, often working closely with bear specialists, tribal biologists, elite wildland fire crews and rural landowners. His approach emphasises slow relationship-building and sustained engagement with the communities he photographs.

In addition to his work in the United States, he has reported on projects across Africa and Asia, examining how different societies navigate questions of wildlife, public health, and land use.
