Sima Diab is a Managing Editor for EPA Images, the European Pressphoto Agency, based in Cairo, Egypt, where she manages photographers and editors both across the Middle East region and around the world. Dia has coordinated coverage of the US Presidential elections and inauguration, the wars in the Middle East and major breaking news events across the world. Previously, she was a freelance photojournalist for over a decade focusing on post-conflict and social challenges in the Arab world and diaspora. Her photographic work has been widely published in major publications.
Dia was the recipient of the James Foley Award for Conflict Reporting in 2016, in 2023 the Edward R Murrow award as part of a team for The Washington Post, and is an alumnus of the Kalish class of 2019, where she received the John Ahnhauser and Bob Gilka Memorial scholarship.
