As part of the prize package, winners of the annual World Press Photo are invited to Amsterdam for an exclusive program which rests on four pillars: recognition, visibility, networking, and knowledge exchange. Activities included presentations, portfolio reviews, workshops, networking events, and an awards ceremony.
Recognition and visibility
- The Awards Ceremony
- A dinner with the media, politicians, culture partners and funders
- Have their work seen by, and meet, experts in industry
Networking
- Moments to interact with the media, politicians, culture partners and funders
- Social activities with fellow winners
- Portfolio reviews with industry experts
Knowledge exchange
In 2026, the program took place from 28 - 30 May in Amsterdam across a variety of locations, including the World Press Photo office and De Nieuwe Kerk, where the World Press Photo Exhibition 2026 is on display.
This year's workshops included 'Grant writing: results framework and budgets' with researcher and evaluator Laura Alexander, and 'A Practical Guide to Digitization and Cataloging' with Kathryn Tollervey, archivist at The Photographers’ Gallery.
Our strategic partner Fujifilm also offered a special presentation of their equipment and provided technical support.
