Paul Botes is South African photographer and educator with over 25 years of experience working across the African continent. His work is rooted in a deep commitment to social justice and equality. He is currently the picture editor of The Continent and a former picture editor of The Mail and the Guardian.
Botes’ photography has received numerous accolades, including the International Contemporary African Photography Prize and the Open Society Audience Engagement Award. He contributes regularly to various schools, including the VII Academy and The Market Photo Workshop, where he mentors and collaborates with emerging visual storytellers.
