Frank Fournier

Frank Fournier (Saint-Sever, France, 1948) completed several years of medical training before he decided to become a professional photographer. In 1975, he moved to New York City, where two years later he joined Contact Press Images as a production coordinator and traffic manager. In 1982, he became a full member photographer of the agency. Over the years, Fournier covered such diverse subjects as the infant victims of AIDS in Romania, rape victims in Bosnia, the Lebanese Civil War, the Los Angeles and Atlanta Olympic Summer Games, the life of Senegalese immigrants in New York and the French bicentennial. Fournier’s photographs have been published extensively in Paris Match, Geo, Stern, Time Magazine, Newsweek, The New York Times Magazine, and National Geographic among others.
